Built for airplane mode

Once the models are on your phone, the whole chain is designed to run without a connection. Here is where each part stands today.

  • in development

    Speakers kept apart

Not a bot in your call

Most AI note-takers send your audio to their servers and join your call as a participant. Vault Notes works the other way round.

Your library, encrypted

Every meeting goes into a SQLCipher-encrypted database on your phone. The key is a random 256-bit key made on the device and protected by the Android Keystore. Phone backups are switched off for the app, so your notes do not end up in a cloud backup.

  • Full-text search across every transcript
  • Your own tags
  • Copied text cleared from the clipboard after 60 seconds
  • Screenshots blocked on the recording and transcript screens

Questions

Is Vault Notes available now?

Not yet. The app is in development and the Android beta is being prepared. Transcription, speaker separation and summaries are built into the app but do not work end to end yet. Join the list and we email you once when you can take part.

Does my audio go to a server?

No. Audio is processed on your phone as it comes in and is not uploaded. It is also not saved as an audio file; what you keep is the text.

What does leave my phone?

The AI models are downloaded once from huggingface.co. The app asks RevenueCat for your subscription status with an anonymous ID. That is all; see Privacy by design for the full list.

How much storage do the models need?

About 1.1 GB on phones with less than 6 GB of RAM (compact models) and about 2.8 GB on phones with more (standard models). You download them once, preferably on Wi-Fi.
